Jill Aitchison, Senior Stylist
Hi there, my name is Jill and I'm a senior stylist here at the Teviot place salon.
I first started working with Medusa in 1999 as a trainee, I completed my level 2 and level 3 in hairdressing and worked as a stylist in the Bread street salon. After 4 years I left the company to pursue my dream of opening my own salon which I did in 2005.
When I decided to close my salon in 2012 I was delighted to re-join the team at Medusa. I had always kept in touch with Colin and the team and knew I would feel at home here. Being part of a company like Medusa means there are so many opportunities and with constant training and investment in staff it is a great place to further my career.
I love all aspects of my work in the hairdressing industry but what I love most is the relationship I have with my clients. As a hairdresser people immediately put a massive amount of trust in you and I never take that for granted. I think it's important to see each client as an individual and I enjoy finding the best cut, colour and style for them.
My other great passion is training, I consider myself lucky to be within an industry which is constantly evolving which means everyone is learning, all of the time. I have been fortunate enough to train with some fantastic hairdressers in my 15 years in the industry and I also love passing on that knowledge to the up and coming trainee's.
When I'm not in the salon I am mostly with my partner and our 2 little boys, we love getting out and about anywhere they can run around and have fun. I also love anything that includes art and design, I have a great interest in fashion and I enjoy crafting.
At home I use Morroconoil Restorative hair mask to repair my damaged ends, no matter how much I abuse my long hair with colouring, bleaching and a lot of heat styling I can use this product to make it feel brand new again.
