Salon Director

Colin

Colin is the CEO of medusa salons, and cuts hair at Bread Street for his regular clients. However, the bulk of his time is now spent in education, helping to develop skills and confidence in stylists in medusa, as well as via numerous industry training programmes, and also for charity (Colin is a Wella Brand Ambassador for Unicef).

Although an experienced educator, Colin is continually on the lookout for new ways to develop further, seeking new sources of inspiration and refining and honing his skills, and this commitment to the craft is reflected in the string of awards he’s received over the years (most recently as a finalist in the prestigious 2016 British Hairdressing Awards).

“The more I cut hair, and the more I teach, the more I realise that striving for perfection in the fundamentals, is what most helps to creates timeless, beautiful hairstyles,  as well as the basis for award-winning creations. All too often, I’ve seen emerging stylists try to do too much, too soon - with results that last as long as the walk to the salon exit. That doesn’t happen at medusa”.

Over the years, Colin has acquired a reputation for repeatedly supporting losing football teams. Nonetheless, his commitment to the Hibbies remains undaunted, and we hope that one day his football team will spark a smile to beam across his face, as opposed to the weekly ritual of self-flagellation, repeatedly slapping his palm onto his forehead each time another rare opportunity at goal is missed.
